Share prices moved slightly higher at the opening of the current session (20.6.2024) on Stock exchange in Athens, with the market moving above the level of 1,430 units.
Specifically, the General Index stood at 1,432.82 points, marking an increase of 0.46%. The value of stock market transactions amounts to 12.45 million euros. The large-cap index rose 0.51%, while the mid-cap index was up 0.15%.
In the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded in the shares of GEK TERNA (+1.92%), Viohalco (+1.03%), Mytileneos (+1.02%) and Terna Energy (+0 .82%).
On the contrary, the biggest decline was recorded in the shares of Motor Oil (-2.03%), ELPE (-1.16%) and Ellaktor (-0.60%).
31 stocks rose, 10 fell and 9 remained stable.
The largest increase was recorded in the shares of Tzirakian -3.91% and MIG -2.43%, while the largest decrease was recorded in the shares of Q&R +8.92% and Elinoil +4.00%.
European markets
European shares rose in early trade today, helped by gains in technology stocks, with interest turning on interest rate decisions by various central banks.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.3% at 10:13 Greek time. Technology stocks led the gains, with gains of 0.7%, while construction stocks rose 0.7%.
Later in the day, the central banks of England, Switzerland and Norway are expected to announce their monetary policy decisions. Britain’s FTSE 100 rose 0.1%, while the Swiss benchmark fell 0.1%
