The deadline for the submission of the Personal Income Tax Return for the tax year 2023 is approaching, as described by AADE in its message sent to taxpayers in the last few hours, reminding that it must be submitted no later than Friday. 26/7/2024.

He also noted that the taxpayer can submit his declaration through the digital portal myAADE (myaade.gov.gr), in the path Applications > Popular Applications > Tax return declaration (E1-E2-E3) > Login to the application > ” DECLARATION IN THE YEAR 2024″.

Also, AADE informs about the need to update contact details, especially for an active Iván for immediate credit of any tax refunds.

“Before the end of your statement, please update, if necessary, your contact information (such as phone numbers, email, address), as well as your active Iván, so you can immediately receive the refund amounts to which you may be entitled. Updating your information is done through the myAADE digital portal, under the Register & Contact route, where you select the field you want to update.

At a slow pace

AADE, in fact, sent the relevant “signal” because 2 out of 3 taxpayers have not yet submitted their declaration. More specifically, 2.6 million E1 statements have been submitted and another 3.8 million remain to be submitted by July 26.

However, it was noted that approximately 1.3 million employees and pensioners as long as they have income, only from pension and salary, have already posted and filled in their declaration. It will automatically be submitted on July 2nd to AADE, if they do not “press the button” themselves.

Of course, it would be good for them to check the relevant information themselves to see if everything is correct, if, for example, the expenses they made using bank payment methods show up correctly with the code 049 , or if they need to fill it. by hand, to avoid fines of up to 300 or 400 euros for some employees or pensioners, for any lost expenses.

At the same time, the self-employed seem to be in a hurry to file their declaration, because 378,068 or one in two have already submitted E3 and E1. Remember that on Monday the legal action was filed against the presumptive method of taxation.

However, in the data of the E1 submissions so far, 29.3% of the declarations result in debt and the debtors are asked to pay an additional tax of almost 1 billion euros, that is, an average of 1,250 euros, per capita.

Credit accounts for 21.7% of this, which means that tax refunds amount to 174.3 million euros or, proportionally, from 305 euros per taxpayer on average. Also, 1 in 2 borrowers have zero settlement.
