Letter to the Minister of Labor Niki Kerameos in the relationship with the digital job card to the retail trade was sent by the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce Stavros Kafounis which requested an extension of the application until November 1.

In particular, according to a related announcement, the Board of Directors of the Athens Chamber of Commerce at yesterday’s meeting thoroughly analyzed the current market situation and focused on the mandatory implementation of digital work cards in retail business from July 1, 2024.

President Stavros Kafounis, expressing the concern of the commercial world of the country, sent a letter to the Minister of Labor and Social Security Mrs. Niki Kerameos, who submitted a request to extend the application of the digital work card in Retail at least until November 1, 2024, for the reasons stated in detail in the following letter:

The letter

Here is the letter:

Madam Minister,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, we thank you for the effective communication from the first time you accepted your duties and for your immediate response to our documented placement of the 12 points that we have had for a long time sent by your Ministry. .

Through this letter and after our meeting yesterday in which the great concern of the members was expressed, which – I must admit – made up of businessmen of different branches, regions and sizes, we are obliged to convey to you the request in full commercial world for the extension of the application of the digital job card in Retail, at least until November 1, 2024.

The extension request is based on several genuine reasons, the most important of which are:

– Businesses, after the inconvenience and time they had to adapt to the new implementation of the POS interface and the direct data transmission to AADE as well as the operation through the IRIS system, do not need time to get used to the new venture, neither the employers, nor the employees, because their training is not yet complete.
We point out that the issue of interconnection has not been resolved for many companies, without their own responsibility for it.

– In the recent circular, while many of the outstanding issues are correctly explained, the obligations increase and it becomes impossible for the obliged companies to adapt immediately throughout the country, such as the agreement and signing of new contracts with employees, the change of hours and their adaptation to new conditions as well as other similar issues.

– Software companies cannot cooperate and serve all businesses in a timely manner.

At the same time, it is necessary to provide enough time for the development of the changes required by law, with the aim of working in favor of employees and healthy entrepreneurship and not punishing and exterminating for Retail.

For example, we mentioned that fines should be reasonable, institutional issues that make businesses vulnerable to bureaucratic issues of minor importance should be resolved by amending the law, as well as opening up debate on the exemption of small businesses with a small number of employees. .

Honorable Madam Minister, we are sure that you understand the need for our intervention and we hope that you will respond to our fair request, with the aim of strengthening trade for the benefit of employees and businesses.
