Share price marked a slight increase at the opening of the session Stock exchange Athens today (17.6.2024), after a sharp fall on Friday, amid an upward reaction in European markets.
Specifically, the General Index stood at 1,407.85 points, marking a marginal increase of 0.07%, while the value of transactions amounted to 7.15 million euros. The stock market’s large-cap index was down slightly by 0.02%, while the mid-cap index was up 0.23%.
Among major stocks, the biggest gainers were Quest Holdings (+1.72%), Motor Oil (+1.15%), Coca Cola HBC (+0.89%) and Lamda (+0.77%).
On the contrary, the biggest decrease was registered in the shares of PPC (-0.85%), Eurobank (-0.68%) and Alpha Bank (-0.45%).
24 stocks increased, 10 decreased and 7 remained stable.
The largest increase was recorded in the shares: Chaidemenos + 7.56% and Ilyda + 5.18%, while the largest decrease was recorded in the shares: Mylos Louli -2.62% and Lanakam -2.11%.
European markets
At 10:09 Greek time, the pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.4%.
An index of technology shares was the biggest gainer, jumping 1.2%, while European banks rose more than 1%.
European shares came under pressure last week when French President Emmanuel Macron called early parliamentary elections following his party’s defeat in European elections.
France’s CAC 40 index rose 0.6% in early trading after falling more than 6% last week.
