A slight increase was noted in the share prices at the opening session of the Athens Stock Exchange today (15.7.2024), amid a mild downward movement in the European markets.
Specifically, the General Index stands at 1,455.19 points, marking an increase of 0.20%, while the value of stock exchange transactions amounts to 9.37 million euros.
The large-cap index rose 0.24%, while the mid-cap index rose slightly by 0.02%.
On the high capitalization side, the biggest increase was recorded in the shares of Motor Oil (+2.12%), PPA (+1.50%), Viohalco (+0.99%) and Ellactor (+0.96 %).
On the contrary, the biggest decline was registered in the shares of Aegean Airlines (-0.50%) and Coca Cola HBC (-0.37%).
36 stocks increased, 24 decreased and 12 remained stable.
The biggest increase was recorded in the shares: Minerva + 5.88% and Attikca Bank + 4.30%, while the biggest decrease was recorded in the shares: Pairis -4.85% and Domiki Kritis -3.92%.
European markets
European shares fell in early trade after a series of disappointing corporate announcements made investors wary, already jittery following the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.5% at 10:11 a.m. in Greece.
Shares in watchmaking group Swatch fell 10.6% after it reported a significant drop in first-half sales and profits. Shares in British luxury goods group Burberry earlier fell 11.4% after its chief executive changed hands.
