The prices of shares today (22.7.2024) on the Athens Stock Exchange, and General Index approached 1,500 points, amid upward movement and European markets, after the withdrawal of Joe Biden in the US presidential bid.
Specifically, the General Index of the Greek stock market closed at 1,482.43 points, marking an increase of 1.23%. The value of the transactions amounted to 96.39 million euros, while 21,845,279 shares were sold. The large-cap index rose 1.43%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.90%.
In the upper part of the capitalization, the biggest increase was recorded in the shares of OTE (+2.83%), Alpha Bank (+2.65%), Motor Oil (+2.52%) Eurobank (+2.33%) and Piraeus (+2.28%) ) . On the contrary, the biggest decrease was recorded in the shares of Ellactor (-18.99%), Jumbo (-0.55%), PPC (-0.35%) and EYDAP (-0.34%).
Without the dividend, the shares of PPC (0.25 euro per share) and EYDAP (0.10 euro per share) are sold today. The Ellactor share, after the same increase and decrease of the share capital, can be negotiated with a final nominal value of the share of 0.04 euros and does not have the right to participate in the return of the capital value of 0.50 euros with a revised starting price of 2.0800 euros.
The largest number of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 7,332,645 and 4,351,180 shares, respectively. The highest value of transactions was recorded by Piraeus with 17.24 million euros and Alpha Bank with 12.57 million euros.
62 stocks increased, 34 decreased and 26 remained stable. The biggest increase was recorded in the shares: Domiki Kritis + 7.37% and Moda Bango + 5.71%. The biggest drop was registered in the shares: Attica Bank -25.41% and Ellaktor -18.99%.
