The Europeans stock markets closed higher today (11.11.2024), starting the week on a positive note, compared to the end of last week, as investors see the presidency of Donald Trump as positive for the markets.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 closed 1.1% higher, with most sectors and major bourses in positive territory. Construction and materials stocks led the gains, ending nearly 2% higher. The EuroStoxx 50 gained 1.07% to 4,854 points.
The benchmark index on Friday (8 Nov 2024) recorded its third consecutive weekly loss as market participants weighed the possibility of tariffs from President Trump’s choice.
Germany’s Dax rose 1.21% to 19,448 points, Britain’s FTSE gained 0.65% to 8,125 points and France’s CAC 40 rose 1.20% to 7,426 points. Regionally, Milan’s FTSE MIB rose 1.56% to 33,343 points and Spain’s IBEX rose 0.33% to 11,593 points.
