Prices recorded a slight gain shares today (12.6.2024) at Stock exchange Athens. The market failed to follow the significant rally in the international markets due to the slowdown in May inflation in the US, while the markets will now return to the Fed’s interest rate announcement.
The General Index of the Greek stock market closed at 1,451.24 points, registering a slight increase of 0.17%. Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price of 1,459.79 units (+0.76%). The value of the transactions amounted to 107.44 million euros, while 25,690,075 shares were sold. The large-cap index rose 0.23%, while the mid-cap index rose slightly to 0.08%.
Among major stocks, the biggest gainers were Elvalhalcor (+2.61%), Quest Holdings (+2.27%), Viohalco (+2.12%) and Coca Cola HBC (+1.52%). On the contrary, the biggest decline was recorded in the shares of Jumbo (-2.01%), Motor Oil (-1.55%) and National (-1.40%).
Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest number of transactions, selling 8,593,344 and 6,405,780 shares, respectively. The highest amount of transactions was recorded by Eurobank with 17.02 million euros and National Bank with 13.26 million euros.
56 stocks increased, 52 decreased and 14 remained stable. The biggest increases were recorded in the segments: Q&R +12.28% and Progressive +9.57%. The biggest decline was recorded in the shares: Iktinos -6.55% and BriQ Properties -4.57%.
