Athens Stock Exchange: With a small increase of 0.15% the General Index – Falling prices of European shares

Stock prices are moving with a slight upward trend in its opening Stock Exchange Athens today (13.6.2024), in the midst of a downward movement in the European markets.

The General Index of the Greek stock exchange at 11:00, stood at 1,453.42 points, marking an increase of 0.15%. The value of the transactions amounted to 7.42 million euros. The large cap index rose 0.11%, while the mid-cap index was up 0.25%.

On the high capitalization side, the biggest gains were recorded in the shares of Lamda Development (+2.11%), Motor Oil (+1.74%), OPAP (+1.09%) and PPC (+0.89%). On the contrary, the biggest decrease was registered in the shares of Ethniki (-0.93%) and Alpha Bank (-0.56%).

36 stocks increased, 14 decreased and 11 remained stable. The biggest increase was recorded in the parts: Kloukinas -Lappas + 2.48% and Lampsa + 2.17%, while the biggest decrease was recorded in the parts: Ilyda -3.83% and Ave -1.71%.

European stock markets

European stocks fell today (13.6.2024) at the start of trading, with increased government bond yields weighing on sentiment.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index was down 0.2% at 10:15 Greek time, after closing up 1.2% in the previous session.

The US central bank (Fed) kept its interest rates unchanged yesterday (12.6.2024), at the same time cutting investors’ expectations for a series of reductions until the end of the year.

Bond yields were higher across the eurozone, with the German 10-year bond yielding 2.551%.

Most sectors are in negative territory, with shares of real estate companies, which are vulnerable to the flow of interest rates, falling 0.8%.
